The Chinese Experience

My name is Allen, and I graduated from Gosford Christian School in 2002. I am studying Bachelor of Science in the University of New South Wales. When I started at Language College when I was a 17 year old kid there were only a few Chinese people living in. After that I went to Gosford Christian School for year 11. After some times I started playing handball with those local students, always joined them together and having lunch, after that I started to go to chapel, although some time I fell asleep. Now I realize that some time I was missing the days when I was in GCS, missing the local students that real friendship. Because as you grown up and studying in university, too much assignment could make you really stress, and remember the old high school time was really sweet.

This is a great opportunity for me to write a message for you, and I hope you can enjoy your studying in GCS and enjoy your life in Australia, and after all you will find that it was a really great memory in your life.

Gosford Christian School initially started its International Student Program with Chinese students from Hong Kong.

Vivien lived with her Aussie family in the early 1990's completing her HSC in 1993. She married in February 2004

and asked her homestay dad to give her away.   Vivien and her husband are pictured here with the Stiles family. All the children attend Gosford Christian School and Mr & Mrs Stiles work for Gosford Christian Centre.

In November 2004 we received a letter from Leo (a Hong Kong student)

Leo says: I was graduated from your school for the school level year 11 & 12 during 1990-1992. Being impressed by the spiritual learning of the School, I was called by the Lord and baptiezed in 1991 by the School Principal and Pastor. After finishing the HSC I furthered my studies in the University of NSW and came back to Hong Kong for my careers development.
