Electives in Year 11

The following is an example of the 2007 electives

Students must select at least 12 units.

ENGLISH

You must choose an English course worth at least 2 units from:

Course Units
Advanced English with extension 3
Advanced English 2
Standard English 2
English as a Second Language (ESL) 2
You may also take Fundamentals of English which is useful for ESL and Standard English.

MATHEMATICS

You must choose a Mathematics course from:

Mathematics with extension 3
Mathematics 2
General Mathematics 2

You need to choose additional units from the list below to make up at least 12 units.

*      Counted towards HSC but not UAI. Usually only offered in Year 11.
**    May be taken as well as other English courses. Enhances and develops literary skills useful in a wide range of

       subjects.
***  Extension 2 is available for both English and Mathematics.

       These are HSC courses and are available from Term 4 of Year 11.

Selection process:

  • Subjects will only be offered if sufficient numbers take the subject.
  • Based on the survey, subjects will be grouped to fit into the timetable.
  • A second choice of Electives sheet will then be given to you to make your final choices.
